Thought of sharing an old trick which was playing around for some time. However it is still valid and working. This is about Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (Genuine)  FREE  for Lifetime, as the title suggests.

What is Kaspersky and why this method?

Kaspersky Internet Security is up-to date Internet Security suite (Anti-virus, Firewall, Parental Control and Content Filtering) which is bound with a strong lisencing process. It is almost impossible to apply permanent hacks to the license process, because the software itself is updated from time to time. So the update process will patch such hacks and twinks. Also it is not a good idea to start using illegal license keys because Kaspersky is always blacklisting such shared keys.

This method is to get free GENUINE Kaspersky IS 2009 license for lifetime. Also the license you receive is for 3 computers.  Computerbild, which is a popular technical magazine, published in German language, is shearing these keys with their subscribers.

However they have branded  Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 as Kaspersky Internet Security CBE 2009. Don’t worry about the name. All other things, including the update server are same as Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. So you have to download and install Kaspersky Internet Security CBE 2009 in order to make this trick happen. We’ll get on to that step later. Read below.

Step-by-step Guide

Go to -

The registration form is in German. Check below image and fill the form accurately. Don’t forget to tick the “” option. As shown in the image. Fill the form and click “Registrieren” button below.

Computerbild just sent you the email confirmation. Check your email account and click the link to activate the account. If the confirmation email is not there, make sure you checked the Spam folder and also make sure you typed the correct email address. Image of the email I got is shown below.

The link in the email will take you to below page. Make sure you tick second option of that screen, as shown below. Then click “Lizenzschlüssel anfordern” button shown.

Now, computerbild will send you another email with Kaspersky License Key! Image of the email I got is shown below (I’m only showing first 7 characters of the key just because I want to keep it private ;-) ).

OK.. Now you have the KEY. So the nest step is downloading Kaspersky Internet Security CBE 2009. Read “What is Kaspersky and why this method?” section  if you are unaware of what CBE means.

Open int downloaded “kis.de.msi” file. Yes the setup is in German. Just don’t worry about that and click “Weiter” button.

Accept the license agreement and click “Weiter” again, as shown below. Make sure you select the correct option.

In the nest screen. Select the 1st button as shown below.

In the next window, select “Installieren” button.

After the completion of the installation click “Weiter>” button of the shown window.

Let Kaspersky IS load itself. It might take some time, depending on your system configurations. If it is taking a long time (more than 4-5 mins) restart your computer once and KIS will load and prompt you with something like below. Click “Weiter” button on that screen.

Select the 1st option from the next windows, which is shown below.

This is where you enter the KIS CBE key you got via the email. Make sure you are connected to the internet before continuing to the nest step. Copy and paste the key into the text box and click “Weiter” button, as shown below.

Let Kaspersky validate your key.

Click “Weiter” in below screen.

Make sure you select correct options as shown below and again click Weiter button.

Now finally click “Fertig” as showb below.

OK. Now you have GENUINE KIS 2009 copy installed in your PC. The only problem is that it is in German. OK then, let’s change this back to English. It is just a little registry hack.

Open Kaspersky CBE by double clicking on the system tray icon.  Then select “Einstellungen” button on top right corner.

Select “Parameter” from the menu shown in the left menu of new window. Then UN-TICK the 1st option (Selbstschutz aktiveren) as shown below.  Finally click “OK” here and make sure you close KIS CBE window before continuing to the next step.

Download this file – http://www.multiupload.com/V5TWK4BNRU and open it. Click “continue” or “yes” depending on your operating  system.  The file will perform required registry modifications to change the language settings.

OK.Now,  open Kaspersky CBE again by double clicking on the system tray icon.  Then select “Einstellungen” button on top right corner. Select “Parameter” from the menu shown in the left menu of new window. Then TICK the 1st option (Selbstschutz aktiveren) as it was in the original status.

Now it is time to reboot your computer. After the reboot open KIS CBE if you want and you’ll surely see the usual English interface like below.

Renew Kaspersky Security Suite 2009 CBE license (how to renew KIS 2009 CBE license).

Normally KIS CBE licensees are limited to 60-70 days. You have to renew the license once the license get expired. So here is how to renew Kaspersky Security Suite 2009 CBE license (how to renew KIS 2009 CBE license).

Open KIS 2009 as usual, select “license” tab as shown below and select “Renew” button buter the license tab.

The button will lead you to the below page.  Click on the banner marked with an arrow.

Enter the username and password you provided in the registration process and click “login” button.

One you submit the form, site will take you to the next screen. Make sure you tick second option of that screen, as shown below. Then click “Lizenzschlüssel anfordern” button shown.

You can enter your new license key by clicking “Merge/delete” button on “license” tab of Kaspersky CBE.
